Blood Flow Studies & Blood Labs

Because your feet and ankles are the sites of a large number of veins, your blood can be the key to diagnosing many problems. That’s why our experts at Northern Illinois Foot & Ankle Specialists may recommend blood flow studies and blood labs as part of your treatment plan.

These tests can help us understand what’s causing your foot or ankle pain, swelling, or other symptoms. They can also give us vital information about your overall health. Blood flow studies involve special imaging tests that allow us to see how blood is flowing through your veins. Blood labs, on the other hand, help us understand what’s going on inside your blood.

Both blood flow studies and blood labs are noninvasive and usually take less than an hour to complete. If you're experiencing foot or ankle pain, contact us today to schedule an appointment.

Casting is often used to immobilize an injured bone or joint so it can heal properly. It may also be used to realign bones or joints into their proper position. Orthotics are devices that are worn inside the shoes to improve foot function or relieve pain.

Lapiplasty Bunion Surgery

Bunions are a common foot deformity that can cause pain and difficulty walking. A bunion is a bony lump that forms on the side of the big toe, causing the toe to point inward. Mini Bunions are similar to bunions, but they form on the pinky toe.

Lapiplasty is a new, minimally invasive treatment for bunions and minibunions that offers a number of advantages over traditional bunion surgery. Lapiplasty is performed using small incisions, which results in less pain and scarring. It also allows patients to return to normal activities more quickly.

Open MRI & Dynamic Diagnostics

Open MRI & Dynamic Diagnostics are two new, cutting-edge diagnostic tools that offer a number of advantages over traditional MRI. Open MRI is performed using a smaller machine, which makes it more comfortable for patients. It also produces clearer images, which helps our experts make more accurate diagnoses.

Dynamic Diagnostics is a new technology that allows our experts to see how your body is functioning in real-time. This allows us to identify problems and create a treatment plan that is tailored to your individual needs.

We're proud to be equipped with open MRI machines at our state-of-the-art facilities in Crystal Lake and Wheaton. If you’re interested in learning more about our Open MRI & Dynamic Diagnostics services, contact us today to schedule a consultation.
