Your provider may order an x-ray of your foot or ankle for your foot or ankle condition. This allows the physician to diagnose bone and joint injury or deformity. Xrays can provide information to help with treatment or surgical planning. If an injury or condition is not seen on x-ray then your doctor may order an MRI or CT to further evaluate.
Northern Illinois Foot and Specialists provides state of the art digital x-ray at both locations allowing for clarity and precision in diagnosing pathologies.
Ultrasound is one of the many tools your physician may use to diagnose or treat your condition. Ultrasound allows your doctor to diagnose superficial soft tissue injuries or lesions such as tendon problems or superficial cysts. Ultrasound is also used as a guidance tool in order to confirm correct placement of injections into joints, the plantar fascia, or superficial lesions.
